The W42TL-38 wave carbon gravel rim features a 30mm inner width and 42-38mm profile. Made of Toray T700/T800 carbon fiber, it offers optimal aero stability for wide tires.
Key Product Features
30mm Ultra-Wide Internal Profile Optimized for modern 38c–55c gravel tires, providing enhanced tire support, lower rolling resistance, and superior traction over technical off-road terrain.
42-38mm Wave Shape Aerodynamics The variable 42mm to 38mm undulating rim depth optimizes airflow, substantially decreases crosswind drag, and improves steering control in unpredictable wind conditions.
Hooked & Tubeless Ready Design Features a high-strength hooked bead for secure tire retention at various pressures, delivering easy tubeless setup and maximum puncture resistance.
High-Strength Carbon Construction Engineered with high-modulus Toray T700 and T1000 carbon fiber layers to achieve an optimal strength-to-weight ratio (420g±15g) without compromising impact resistance.
Precision Spoke Hole Reinforcement Built with six-axis precision drilling and reinforced nipple hole layups, allowing higher spoke tension and ensuring long-term durability for aggressive gravel riding.
Product Development Process
1 Layup / Pre-molding Process
Precision Ply Cutting & Layering
Using high-grade Toray T700, T800, and T1000 carbon prepregs, material is precisely cut and stacked according to strict engineering blueprints. Every single ply is customized with exact dimensions, multi-angle schedules (0°, 45°, 90°), and controlled layer counts to lay a high-performance foundation.
Optimized Material Staging & Roll Management
In the dedicated material staging zone, high-quality carbon fiber prepreg rolls—ranging from 15–20mm to 20–25mm widths—are systematically organized. Under strict tension and temperature control, the material is prepared for continuous, defect-free feeding into the production line.
Skilled Manual Roll Forming
Highly experienced technicians execute meticulous manual roll forming and lamination. Incorporating hundreds of distinct, multi-angle carbon strips, this hands-on craftsmanship ensures optimal compaction, eliminating air gaps and maximizing structural strength and impact resistance.
2 Molding Process
High-Precision Mold Preparation & Alignment
Pre-molded rim blanks are carefully aligned in high-strength alloy molds. Strict temperature and pressure monitoring ensures flawless compaction and seamless carbon layer bonding during curing.
Thermal Curing & De-molding Quality Control
Rims undergo controlled hot-press curing under extreme pressure to eliminate air voids. Once de-molded, each rim is rigorously inspected for structural integrity and surface smoothness.
